Avast Ye, Mateys!

Gasparilla was a blast. Check out the pirate invasion in my latest online movie.

An Overblown Metaphor

My life is becoming a three-ring circus of absudity. I wouldn't mind so much if I were the ringmaster or a member of the audience, instead of the guy with his head in the lion's mouth.

Of course, here at the castrated Daily Dave 2.0, I do not dare to discuss anything of real importance. I fear anything I write will be used out of context against me.

Another Quote

Another gem from Double Indemnity:

Walter Neff: You'll be here too?

Phyllis: I guess so, I usually am.

Walter Neff: Same chair, same perfume, same anklet?

Phyllis: I wonder if I know what you mean.

Walter Neff: I wonder if you wonder.

Double Indemnity

Britt and I are watching "Double Indemnity" on Turner Classic Movies. Great stuff:

Phyllis: Mr. Neff, why don't you drop by tomorrow evening about eight-thirty. He'll be in then.

Walter Neff: Who?

Phyllis: My husband. You were anxious to talk to him weren't you?

Walter Neff: Sure, only I'm getting over it a little. If you know what I mean.

Phyllis: There's a speed limit in this state, Mr. Neff. Forty-five miles an hour.

Walter Neff: How fast was I going, officer?

Phyllis: I'd say about ninety.

Walter Neff: Suppose you get down off your motorcycle and give me a ticket.

Phyllis: Suppose I let you off with a warning this time.

Walter Neff: Suppose it doesn't take.

Phyllis: Suppose I have to whack you over the knuckles.

Walter Neff: Suppose I bust out crying and put my head on your shoulder.

Phyllis: Suppose you try putting it on my husband's shoulder.

Walter Neff: That tears it.

Googlewacking!

According to Google, there are 28 pages on the Internet that contain both the word "tsunami" and the phrase "chocolately goodness." I share this information with you in hopes that it will help make the world a better place.

Update: Complementary spouse Britt Shirley informs me that there are more than 6,000 Web pages with "tsunami" and "caramel," and 22 with "tsunami," "caramel" and "sardines."

Tsunami Donations

Britt and I have donated money to Oxfam in response to the disaster in Southeast Asia. If you'd like to help out, please consider a donation to Oxfam or Doctors Without Borders, two excellent organizations committed to providing both immediate relief and long-term assistance.
